Prior to this, in 2004, Choongwae Pharmaceutical was recognized for its technological prowess by developing the world's first, the first generic 'Pripenem,' of the antibiotic imipenem, which no one has been successful with due to its high synthetic difficulty.

2004.3.2 Contracted with Maruko of Japan to license and export raw materials for itraconazole

On March 2, 2004, Choongwae Pharmaceutical signed a license and raw material export contract with Maruko of Japan for an antifungal drug'Itraconazole'.
